I keep banging on about the glorious weather of Autumn, I cannot help it. I just love Autumn. An even more so, if it involves adventure, friends, family and a Chop Picnic. Most folks call it a Scrub Barbie these days, but I love to call it a Chop Picnic, it’s what it was called when my mum and dad were kids. It’s lovely don’t you think?
This is the day that was…
There was plenty of fun had by all, wading in the water by the big kids.
A quick spot of Superhero-ness by Edie.
A bit of flying practice with Mang, complete with undies on the outside for Superhero authenticity and Reg’s dribble cloth for a cape. All that saving the world stuff can sure puff a girl out though, rest required in the bottom of the pram.
Emptying the yabby nets, they were beauties.
So glad I had camera in hand. Edie decided Reg needed a bigger grin and yelled “Mum look, I smiled him”. Poor Reg, they do love him so.
There was water everywhere and it went on forever. Not often you see the driest state in the driest continent in the world with this much water. Consider myself very lucky to have been a part of it for the day.
The view across the water, getting late in the day. Bliss.
The girls, covered in dirt and sauce. Knotty hair, sticky fingers, could the day get any better? Then Mang breaks out the Easter Eggs. Woohoo!!!
And the blokes, doing what they do best – talking farming over a couple of cold ones.
More of the gang, just shootin’ the breeze and enjoying the day.
And that was our day.
